Managing annual budget, responsible for safety, maintaining equipment, acquisitions, accounts payable, inventory, accounts receivable and payroll. In 1989 finished building 60 ft. fishing vessel POLLUX and put it to work commercial fishing. I am responsible for hiring the skipper, maintenance and accounting. In 2003 I was elected to the Board of Directors of the FMA and re-elected last year. I am responsible to hold meetings of members from the Crescent City Harbor and report to the board. I have testified before both the state senate and state assembly committee hearings and before the state fish and game commission on fishing related matters.

Gerry Hemmingsen

I am seeking the position of Supervisor District 4
because there are many issues facing our county that
need special attention. We need more doctors. Our
roads are being closed to public use. Our land is
being removed from the tax rolls. Our airport needs to
be expanded, Elk Valley Rancheria’s destination resort
needs to be approved and our roads need to be
upgraded.

For four years our current Supervisor has been
inactive, inaccessible and unwilling to make these
things happen. I believe I have the business skills
and leadership qualities to make a difference. I am
willing to work hard and put in the time, I will be
accessible and I will actively pursue solutions to
help our county grow and prosper and that’s why I want
to be your next Supervisor.

I have deep roots in this county and went to school
with many of you. My wife Luanne and I have been
married for almost 33 years and have raised two great
children.

I attended College of the Siskiyous and University of
Nevada at Las Vegas and have owned three successful
local businesses for over 30 years.. I am active in
many community improvement organizations. I am also a
member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, National
Federation of Independent Business and the
Fisherman’s Marketing Association. In addition, I have
testified before state senate and assembly committees.

I can make this promise to you: if I am elected as
your Supervisor, I will work with the board to get
things done, not against them. You deserve a
supervisor who will work for you, and that’s exactly
what I will do if you elect Hemmingsen as your
Supervisor.
